Cobbworks is a Pacific Northwest cottage industry specializing in fabrication
of Oyster Bucket waterproof panniers and other bicycle commuting and touring
gear.
Oyster Bucket Panniers are:
- Made from recycled materials: it's definitely not the easiest
production method and sometimes not even the least expensive. But when
possible, that's the way it's done here.
- Sturdy: constructed of high density polyethylene, with stainless
steel fasteners and heat treated, machine polished aluminum mounting hardware.
- Waterproof: inside and out -- take pet goldfish for a ride!
- Roomy: each bucket has a 4-gallon (1000 cubic inch) capacity.
Inside dimensions are a 9"X9" square at top, tapering to a 8.25"X8.25"
square at bottom, by 13" in height.
- Lightweight: well, 5lbs. 8oz (2500 grams) per pair may not
be that light, but they are designed to haul and protect many different
loads. Like your bike rack, they make up for the added weight by increasing
utility.
- Easy to Use: nylon webbing straps enable easy attachment
and removal of pannier and lid. Recycled pneumatic hose is used to make
comfy and durable carrying handles for off-bike transport.
- Smart: buckets mount flush to allow further cargo loading
on top and are compatible with most racks. 3m Scotchlite(tm) reflective
film dramatically enhances nighttime visibility. Load lashing kits and
many other accessories are easily installed. Items which are dirty,
sharp, fragile, or otherwise unsuitable for fabric panniers can be carried
with ease using Oyster Buckets.
